OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
Plans, supervises and controls the proper receipt, storage, issuance and delivery of material and equipment processed through the Central Transportation Department stockroom and oversees the day-to-day operation of the fuel system.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Supervises the automated parts purchasing, storing and issuing system. Maintains inventory control and accountability through proper documentation. Prepares for and supervises the annual parts inventory program. Supervises all data input for the automated parts system, monitors all reports, causes all reports to be audited and corrected.
2. Assists in the preparation of bid documents to expedite the purchase of parts and monitors the bids to ensure compliance.
3. Assists in managing the parts and fuel inventory and provides input for budget preparation.
4. Manages and controls the automated fuel system to ensure that fuel is available on a continual basis. Controls the fuel inventory and accounting system and ensures disbursements are properly made.
5. Maintains the monthly reconciliation of all inventory accounts with the General Ledger inventory accounts.
6. Continually monitors the parts and fuel system programs and recommends changes to enhance the current system and programs to improve efficiency, productivity and accurate accountability.
7. Assigns, trains, supervises and evaluates a subordinate staff of warehouse personnel, drivers and clerks.
8. Performs other duties related to the general administrative responsibilities of the position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This work requires the following physical activities: sitting, mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Associate of Arts degree
OR
High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of documented progressive experience in warehousing and stockroom at the supervisory level.
2. Minimum of three (3) years of volume stores and warehouse experience in large institutional or governmental organization utilizing computerized control system.
3. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
